SC to pronounce Ayodhya judgment on Saturday

New Delhi, After seven decades of a protracted legal battle, the Supreme Court on Saturday will pronounce the judgment in Ayodhya title dispute case at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday. The notice on the judgment was uploaded on the website of the court during the late evening on Friday. Earlier, during the day, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi had held a highly confidential meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police. It is learnt this meeting focussed at taking stock of the law and order situation in the state. A five judge bench headed by Chief JusticeGogoi and comprising Chief Justice-designate Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice S.A. Nazeer, had reserved the judgement on October 17, after 40 days of daily hearing on the matter, which began on August 6. On the last day of the hearing, the Hindu parties urged the court to take into consideration faith of the millions of people attached with the birthplace of Lord Ram, and the Muslim parties pleaded to restore the Babri Masjid, as it was, before the demolition in 1992. Both sides were involved in intense arguments in the last phase of the hearing, and it appeared high-pitched arguments had led to chaos in the courtroom...

He said that a grand temple will now be built for Ram Lalla deity who had been living under a tent for many years. “Every heart is illuminated; it is an emotional moment for the entire country… A long wait ends today,” said the Prime Minister. He added that given the raging pandemic, a “maryada” has been kept in mind during the “Bhumi Pujan”. Earlier, Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat also said that the invitation could not be extended to many considering the CIOVID-19 pandemic. “The ‘Jai Siyaram’ call is resonating not only in the city of Lord Ram today, but throughout the world. I express my gratitude to all citizens of this nation, Indian diaspora across the world and all the devotees of Lord Ram on today’s pious occasion,” he said. He said that from Kanyakumari to Kshirbhavani, Koteshwar to Kamakhya, Jagannath to Kedarnath, Somnath to Kashi Vishwanath, all is immersed in Lord Ram. He also referred to the fact how holy soil and water from across india reached Ram Janmabhoomi for ‘Bhumi Pujan’ ceremony. The Prime Minister said Ram is in India’s history and philosophy. In a significant statement, he used Ram to portray a “unity in diversity” of India, which he says is present in different forms in different areas of India. The Prime Minister dressed in traditional attire (dhoti and kurta), earlier bowed in front of the deity — Ram Lalla Virajman himself. The festive occasion of Diwali should be celebrated every year on August 5.” Bhanu Pratap has been waiting for the idol installation and Bhumi Pujan for many years. “We are seeing the temple being built before our eyes today after an immense struggle. The youth are happy and the temple building will lead to the development of Ayodhya.” The local administration said that during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, restrictions had to be observed, hence they did not want people to go for the Bhumi Pujan. E-learning players hail Centre’s e-VIDYA initiative

New Delhi, (Samajweekly) E-learning platforms have lauded the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s announcement of the ‘Pradhan Mantri e-VIDYA’ initiative for digital education which would include online teaching, TV channels, radio and podcasts. The multi-mode access program to be launched immediately would consist of ‘DIKSHA’ scheme for school education in states and union territories, which would provide e-content and QR coded textbooks for all grades. Further, the government will launch one earmarked TV channel for each class from standard 1 to 12. The scheme would entail extensive use of radio, community radio and podcasts Special e-content for visually and hearing impaired would also be provided under the scheme. In another major step, top 100 universities will be permitted to automatically start online courses by May 30, 2020. Vamsi Krishna, CEO and Co-founder, Vedantu said: “The current situation is here to stay and E-learning is the solution one can resolve to as it allows one to study from the safe confines of their home and avoid travel to public places. Government initiatives like e-VIDYA programme will not only drive evolution and fundamentally change the pattern of teaching and learning but also make education accessible to everyone.” He noted that the focus on technology driven education will open doors and present ample opportunities for educators and e-learning companies.
