In a video message posted on the social media, Vartika has asked the government to book the cleric for sedition because he has endangered the lives of millions by hosting the Tablighi Jamaat meeting in the midst of the Corona scare. “The Tablighi Jamaat chief has thrown the nation into a crisis. The number of Coronavirus positive cases have spiked in the country after the Tablighi Jamaat meet. This man should be arrested without delay. I have announced the reward so that people come forward with information about his whereabouts,” she said. Vartika is known for creating controversies. In December last year, she wrote a letter in blood to union home minister Amit Shah demanding that the four men convicted in Nirbhaya gang-rape case should be executed by a woman. ‘New National Assembly should decide COAS tenure issue’

Hyderabad, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that a new National Assembly elected through fresh elections should decide the issue of extension of the army chief’s tenure, media reports said. “The court ordered parliament to legislate. Although we respect the court’s order, this fake parliament does not have the right, the nation’s mandate and trust to legislate on the law,” said Rehman while addressing a public meeting in Sukkur district on Thursday. He reiterated his demand that the existing assemblies should be dissolved and snap polls should be called at the earliest to comply with the court’s order. “The illegitimate rulers have become a threat to the country’s security,” he emphasised. Referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the JUI-F chief said the country’s ruler was oblivious of the laws of the land and that “he is not even aware how a notification is supposed to be issued”...

Muslims plan march in support of Ravidas temple

New Delhi, Muslims have decided to extend a helping hand to Dalits in the Ravidas temple demolition row and will hold a march here on Sunday to show their solidarity with Dalits. The march, which will start at Jamia Hamdard and move towards the site in Tughlaqabad, is being organised by both Shia and Sunni sects of the Muslim community. Many prominent religious figures, including Maulana Fazlul Manan of Teele Wali Masjid in Lucknow, are likely to take part in the march. On the proposed march, Mehmood Pracha, main organiser and eminent lawyer, said Dalits and Muslims were under threat and they should fight it together. “There is no politics into it. We are trying to come together,” he said. “To show solidarity with the Scheduled Caste community on the issue of demolition of Sant Ravidas temple and arrest of Bhim Army chief Chandrashekar Aazad, the Muslims are organising a silent march to demand rebuilding of the temple and release of Aazad as well as 95 other protesters,” said a release. The temple was demolished by the Delhi Development Authority on August 10 on the Supreme Court order.
