मेरा घर… जहाँ दरवाजे बंद है, बाहर की हवा अंदर नही आती, अंदर की हवा बाहर नाही जाती। मेरा घर.. जहाँ बात नही होती, बस होता है… चिखना-चिल्लना, गाली-गेलोच और मार-पीट! मेरा घर… जहाँ बताये हुये आदेशों पर चालना पडता है, हुक्म को मानना पडता है! मेरा घर … जहाँ एक ही की आवाज होती है, और दुसरें के तो सांसो की आहटें! मेरा घर …. वैसे तो देखने मैं हर चीज अपनी जागह पर है, पर … वहा के लोग घर मे रहना पसंद ही नाही करते! मेरा घर.. वहा मेरी सांसे रुक जाती है, दिल की धडकन तेज हो जाती है, मन भारी होने लागता है। वह कहता है … “निकल यहाँ से … कहीं और चाली जा ! … नही तो यहाँ साँसे फुल जायेगी!” सोचती हुँ… चली ही जाऊँ घर छोड़कर! वैसे तो कहने को मेरा वहां कुछ भी नही है… … सिवाय जमाणे के रिवाज के! -हेमांगी..

Mumbai, The road crossing the Patna Golf Club and Patna Public Service Commission and leading to Bihar Human Rights Commission has become the latest testament that all is not well between Nitish Kumar and the BJP. The calm on the surface is deceiving. The road that is even today called Bailey Road, in spite of being earlier renamed Jawaharlal Nehru Marg has once again being re-christened. Guess against whose name? Its renamed after India’s first Prime Minister, once again to call it “Nehru Path”. Nehru has been central to Congress ethos and the biggest punching bag for the BJP. Even recently, Amit Shah blamed the existence of Article 370 on Pandit Nehru. This change of name of a road is anything but a regular administrative work and has deep seeded political messaging by Nitish Kumar for its ally – the BJP, in the state. The goal to rename a road after Nehru that was already named after Nehru was two-fold- to send feelers to Congress and more importantly to warn BJP. This September, Kumar accepted that there is a problem in the alliance by unilaterally saying that there isn’t any. He told party workers, “There are many who think there is ghachpach (something problematic) in our alliance. It is not so.”..

Bihar polls: CM may face former PMC chief after rift in 2019

WhatsAppFacebookTwitterTelegramEmailPrint Patna, (Samajweekly) Anupam Kumar Suman, the former Municipal Commissioner of Patna has jumped into the Bihar Assembly election scene and hinted at contesting against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Suman was said to be one of the closest bureaucrats to Nitish Kumar. The Gujarat cadre senior IAS officer was appointed in Bihar after a special request by the ruling party. He held various top posts in the Bihar government, including that of the principal secretary in the state secretariat. Suman resigned from the post of Commissioner, Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on August 3, 2019, after the state government held him responsible for last year’s flood in the capital city that flashed scenes of top ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi marooned by rising waters. “I resigned from the post on August 3 last year, while the flood happened in the city a month later. The state government held me responsible for the choked drainage system leading to the flood,” Suman said. A year after his resignation, Suman attacked Nitish Kumar for the pathetic condition of the PMC. “The officers of the PMC do not have power to take decisions. Hence, no one wants posting in this department,” Suman added. He hinted that he may contest elections against Nitish Kumar in the same way Arvind Kejriwal did against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi in 2014 parliamentary election. Suman is associated with a party called ‘Plurals’ led by Pushpam Priya Chaudhary. The party plans to contest all 243 seats in Bihar...

No NRC in Bihar, Assembly passes resolution

Patna, The National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not be implemented in Bihar. A proposal for not implementing the NRC in the present form, instead implementing it with an amendment in the National Population Register (NPR) in the format of 2010, was passed by the state Assembly for common consent on the second day of the Budget session on Tuesday. On the second day, after Finance Minister Sushil Kumar Modi presented the Budget for the financial year 2020-21, a proposal was presented for not implementing the NRC. The proposal received a nod from all the members, thereafter, Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary announced the decision. Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made it clear that there was no question of implementing the NRC in Bihar. He also quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement about the NRC. Nitish said in the Assembly that people in the rural areas do not have birth proofs. In view of all these, a letter has been sent to the Central government. The letter sent by the Bihar government on February 15 clearly states that the NPR should be implemented in the old format. The Chief Minister, while appealing to the opposition parties not to remain in ‘Confusion’, said that an amendment to the letter has also been requested to add transgender to the gender column...
