मेरा घर… जहाँ दरवाजे बंद है, बाहर की हवा अंदर नही आती, अंदर की हवा बाहर नाही जाती। मेरा घर.. जहाँ बात नही होती, बस होता है… चिखना-चिल्लना, गाली-गेलोच और मार-पीट! मेरा घर… जहाँ बताये हुये आदेशों पर चालना पडता है, हुक्म को मानना पडता है! मेरा घर … जहाँ एक ही की आवाज होती है, और दुसरें के तो सांसो की आहटें! मेरा घर …. वैसे तो देखने मैं हर चीज अपनी जागह पर है, पर … वहा के लोग घर मे रहना पसंद ही नाही करते! मेरा घर.. वहा मेरी सांसे रुक जाती है, दिल की धडकन तेज हो जाती है, मन भारी होने लागता है। वह कहता है … “निकल यहाँ से … कहीं और चाली जा ! … नही तो यहाँ साँसे फुल जायेगी!” सोचती हुँ… चली ही जाऊँ घर छोड़कर! वैसे तो कहने को मेरा वहां कुछ भी नही है… … सिवाय जमाणे के रिवाज के! -हेमांगी..

Railways ferried 60L people, recovered 15% operational costs

New Delhi, (Samajweekly) Indian Railways has ferried over 60 lakh people in 4,450 Shramik Special trains since May 1, but managed to recover only 15 per cent of operational costs, said Railway Board Chairman V.K. Yadav, here on Monday. Speaking to reporters through a video link, Yadav said, “The average fare per person on Shramik Special trains was Rs 600 and we have operated 4,450 Shramik trains so far. The Railways generated a revenue of around Rs 360 crore.” The average fare for Shramik Special trains is Rs 600 per passenger. “One has to keep in mind that these are normal fares and not fares for special trains which are higher. We carried 60 lakh passengers, so the revenue can be calculated. We, however, managed to recover only 15 per cent of cost of operations,” the Chairman said. Yadav reiterated that the cost of operating these trains was being shared by the Centre and the states in a 85-15 per cent ratio. He also said that now very less people are stranded and the Railways along with the state governments will arrange for their return. He further said that the demand for Shramik Special trains had fallen in the last couple of days. Yadav said that he had written to the state governments on June 3 and received requests for 171 Shramik Special trains. “Between June 4 and June 14, we operated 222 Shramik special trains,” he said, and assured the states of providing trains within 24 hours of the request. Before May 25, the Railways was operating over 250 trains to ferry the stranded workers...

Mumbai, The road crossing the Patna Golf Club and Patna Public Service Commission and leading to Bihar Human Rights Commission has become the latest testament that all is not well between Nitish Kumar and the BJP. The calm on the surface is deceiving. The road that is even today called Bailey Road, in spite of being earlier renamed Jawaharlal Nehru Marg has once again being re-christened. Guess against whose name? Its renamed after India’s first Prime Minister, once again to call it “Nehru Path”. Nehru has been central to Congress ethos and the biggest punching bag for the BJP. Even recently, Amit Shah blamed the existence of Article 370 on Pandit Nehru. This change of name of a road is anything but a regular administrative work and has deep seeded political messaging by Nitish Kumar for its ally – the BJP, in the state. The goal to rename a road after Nehru that was already named after Nehru was two-fold- to send feelers to Congress and more importantly to warn BJP. This September, Kumar accepted that there is a problem in the alliance by unilaterally saying that there isn’t any. He told party workers, “There are many who think there is ghachpach (something problematic) in our alliance. It is not so.”..
