New Delhi, (Samajweekly) Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government after a sugarcane farmer committed suicide in the state over his pending dues. Punjab to give Rs 2,500 relief for not burning paddy straw

Secretary Agriculture Kahan Singh Pannu said the farmers cultivating non-basmati paddy and owning land up to five acre would get Rs 2,500 per acre compensation for not burning the paddy residue. He said firstly the beneficiary of this compensation should be the farmer who owns up to five acres of land in his name, his wife and children under 18 years of age. (ਰਾਜਾ) ਨਵੀਆਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਆ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਂ ਤਾੜੂ ਨੀਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰੇ। 3. ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਰਾਜੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਐਬ ਨਾ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਪਰਜਾ ਉਸਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਭਚਿੰਤਕ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। 4. ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। 5. ਬਗਾਵਤ ਦੇ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਾਗੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠਿਕਾਣੇ ਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। 6. ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰੱਖੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਚਿਰਕਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨੇੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁੰਗਰਦੇ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਝੱਟ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਉਂ ਹੀ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਵ ਉੱਠਣ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਵਾਂ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਨਮਾਨੀ, ਲੁੱਟ-ਖਸੁੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਜਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਸੁਖ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਭਾਵਨਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੋ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢਣਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ। 7. ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਇੰਨਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਗਲਾ ਉੱਠ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ। 8. ਅਜਨਬੀ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਹੀਲੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।..

UP farmer commits suicide fearing coronavirus infection

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), (Samajweekly) A farmer from a Mathura village, who was suffering from fever and cold, committed suicide to ‘save his entire village from being infected with coronavirus’, said police. The deceased, Mahendra Singh, 36, had ‘assumed’ that he was suffering from novel coronavirus without undergoing any medical test. His is the fourth such suicide in the state. Singh, a resident of the Mundesi village under Highway police jurisdiction, ended his life by jumping into a well from where his body was fished out on Tuesday. According to his nephew, Hakim Singh, the farmer had been suffering from fever and cold since the past two days. He assumed that he was suffering from Corona virus and then committed suicide. Circle officer Varun Kumar said, “The victim committed suicide out of fear of spreading the disease. Punjab CM urges farmers’ unions to postpone protests

Reacting to reports that several unions are planning protests despite the restrictions on gatherings, the Chief Minister urged them not to take confrontationist approach in the current situation, and also as Section 144 was in operation. “Restraint was the need of the hour”, he said, urging them to help the state government in checking Covid-19’s spread. Though the issue of farm ordinances was vital to the state’s interests, any physical protest at the moment would harm Punjab, he said and advised the unions to use the social media to express their anger and garner support against the ordinances, which were also against the nation’s federal character. New Delhi, (Samajweekly) The Congress slammed the government’s Rs 20 lakh crore package, saying it has “only 13 zeros” for farmers after the Finance Minister announced the third tranche of welfare schemes for the farmers on Friday. “This is a big ‘jumla’ and Rs 20 lakh crore is only 13 zeros for the citizens of the country,” alleged Randeep Surjewala, Congress chief spokesperson. The Rs 20 lakh crore package is not relief to countrymen but “voodoo economics” as there is no reality in the so called package, said Surjewala. The party claimed that the minister is only repackaging the Budget and she should apologise to the farmers as no direct benefit is being given to the farmers and that it is “only headline and no helpline”. It described the three-day package announcement as only a “loan distribution drive” for already distressed farmers. During the coronavirus pandemic, farmers and labourers are facing the most difficulty. Instead of giving them relief the Modi government is hurting the farmers and labourers and instead of providing help, it is pushing the farmer into a debt trap, said Surjewala. He alleged that it is clear the Modi government neither understands the pain of the farmer nor the problems of farming.
