UP teachers recruitment: Congress demands SC-monitored probe

New Delhi, (Samajweekly) Upping the ante against the Uttar Pradesh government over the alleged irregularities in 69,000 teachers recruitment and the fake teacher issue, the Congress on Thursday demanded a Supreme Court judge-monitored probe and job for the real Anamika Shukla, who is still unemployed. Addressing a press conference through video conferencing, Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said, “Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been raising the issue of the teachers recruitment scam and she also spoke to the people who appeared for the examination while the government has not paid heed to the issue.” Rajeev Shukla said, “we also witnessed the issue of Anamika Shukla, as over 25 people were doing jobs impersonating her name.” “Meanwhile, the media highlighted that real Anamika Shukla is unemployed and she has no role in the entire issue. But despite that her documents were used to take jobs,” Rajeev Shukla, a former Rajya Sabha MP said. Priyanka Gandhi on June 9 had demanded the state government apologise to Anamika Shukla who is still unemployed. She had also likened the teachers’ recruitment irregularity to the Vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh. Real Anamika Shukla, in whose name a teacher in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly drawing salary from 25 places and had garnered more than Rs 1 crore came forward on June 9. New Delhi, (Samajweekly) With the emergence of the real Anamika Shukla, in whose name a teacher in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly drawing salary from 25 places and hadd garnered more than Rs 1 crore, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday demanded the state government should apologise to the woman who is still unemployed. “UP government should go and apologise to Anamika Shukla… she is living in poverty and doesn’t know what is happening in her name, this is a loot system. “Anamika should be given justice job and security,” Priyanka Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi. After the scam was unearthed, Anamika Shukla went to meet officials on Tuesday in Gonda where she said she applied to many places but could not attend counselling. Police on Saturday had arrested a woman who had claimed to be Anamika Shukla and got a teacher’s job. The accused had allegedly worked in 25 schools for several months and had withdrawn over Rs 1 crore in salaries till February last. A native of Mainpuri, the accused woman was working as a full-time science teacher at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Faridpur in Kasganj and simultaneously at many schools in Ambedkar Nagar, Baghpat, Aligarh, Saharanpur and Prayagraj districts etc. The matter came to light when a database of teachers was being created on Manav Sampada portal that required details like teachers’ personal records, date of joining, and promotion. Ayodhya security beefed up for 27th Babri Masjid razing day

Ayodhya, Security has been stepped up for the 27th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid on Friday, declared as the most sensitive day after the November 9 when the Supreme Court delivered its verdict in the Ayodhya case. To prevent any untoward incident and deploy security forces, the district has been divided into four security zones, 10 security sectors and 14 sub-security sectors. The RamKot area in the city, where the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid site is located, has been almost locked down. Ayodhya District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha told IANS that there would be no traditional programmes of either community to mark the demolition of the mosque.Ayodhya SSP Ashish Tiwari told IANS, five additional SPs, 10 DSPs and and 15 Inspectors had been deployed to man the security divisions. Nine companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and 29 companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) had been roped in the security details, he added. According to Tiwari, 17 inter-district barriers have been activated with postings of sub-inspectors and police personnel.
