(ਸਮਾਜਵੀਕਲੀ) ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ‘ਬਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ’ ਤੇ ‘ਅਸ਼ਟਮ ਬਲਬੀਰਾ’ ਜਿਹੇ ਲਫਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਵਾਰਸ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਸਨ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼1656 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਏ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੀਰਤਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਇਆ। ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਏ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਰਾਮਰਾਇ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਔਰੰਗਜੇਬ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ-ਰਸੂਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪੰਕਤੀ ‘ਮਿਟੀ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਕੀ ਪੇੜੈ ਪਈ ਕੁਮਿਆਰ’ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ‘ਮਿੱਟੀ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਕੀ, ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਜੋਂ 6 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 1661 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਆਸੀਨ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ 5 ਸਾਲ, 3 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਾਏ ਧੀਰ ਮੱਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਲਾਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਮਸੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੰਢਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਇੱਧਰੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੱਕ ਹੈ। ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਨੇ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਗੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਪਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ। ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਪਧਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਸਮਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ‘ਨਹਿ ਮਲੇਸ਼ ਕੋ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਹ ਹੈ’ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਵਰਜ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਹੇਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਦਿਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਣਖ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਇਕ ਸਾਖੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਆਪ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ ਇੱਕ ਕੋਹੜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੇਟ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।..

Trust to open bank accounts, seek donations for Ayodhya mosque

WhatsAppFacebookTwitterTelegramEmailPrint Ayodhya, (Samajweekly) The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), the trust constituted by the Sunni Waqf Board for the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya, is inviting donations and will open two bank accounts for the purpose. The trust will also set up a website with an inbuilt gateway to receive donations online. “The Trust has decided to open accounts in two private sector banks for receiving donations. Both will be current accounts. Complying with the Supreme Court’s verdict, the Trust will construct a mosque, a hospital, community kitchen, and a library on the 5-acre land allotted to the Waqf Board at Dhannipur village in Ayodhya district,” said Trust Secretary Athar Hussain. A financial officer too has been appointed for audit and keep the records of funds received, he said. “… even non-Muslims are welcome to donate. We are already receiving calls from those willing to donate for the proposed mosque and other public facilities.” The Trust was formed with nine members on board, with six more to be added soon...

ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਘਰਾਂ ਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਜਾਣਾ- ਯਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਣਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਬਹਿਣਾ। ਦੌੜਨਾ, ਛੂਹਣਾ, ਧੱਕੇ ਦੇ ਸੁੱਟਣਾ ਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਵੀ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਣਾ ਫੇਰ…ਖਿੜ ਖਿੜਾ ਕੇ ਹੱਸਣਾ। ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਣਾ- ਪੈਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਰੱਖ- ਸਿੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਨੱਪਣਾ, ਲਿਪਣਾ। ਹੋਰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਪਾ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰਨਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਕਿ ‘ਪੱਕ ਏ’ ਤਾਂ- ਹੌਲ਼ੀ ਜਿਹੇ ਪੈਰ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਣਾ ਘਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਾ….. ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ। ਤੀਲੇ ਤੋੜਨੇ, ਘਰ ਸਜਾਉਣਾ। ਇੱਕ ਝੰਡਾ ਗੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ, ਅਣਜਾਣੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਦਾ। ਇੱਕ ਤੀਲੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਤਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਮੋਟਰ ਬਣਾਉਣੀ ਤੇ ਆਡ ਵੀ। ਛੋਟੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਖੇਤ ਬਣਾਉਣੇ, ਤੇ ਹਰੇ ਘਾਹ ਦੇ ਤੀਲੇ ਗੱਡ ਕੇ ਫਸਲ ਬੀਜਣੀ। ਸਮਾਂ ਭੁਲ ਜਾਣਾ—- ਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਆਉਣੀ- ‘ਝਾਈ’ ‘ਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਏ। ਘਰ ਦਾ ਚੇਤਾ ਆਉਣਾ। ਤੁਰਨ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਹਾਰਨਾ। ਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਰੀਝਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾਏ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ- ਪੈਰ ਮਾਰ ਢਾਹੁਣਾ, ਬੜਾ ਚਾਅ ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਆਖਣਾ- ‘ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗੇ, ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਢਾਵਾਂਗੇ।’ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰੀਝਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਤਾੜਨਾ ਤੇ ਖਿੜ ਜਾਣਾ- ਘਰ ਢਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ, ਬਣਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਆਉਣਾ। ਪਰ… ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ- ਹੁਣ ਕਿੱਧਰੋਂ ‘ਵਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ। ਹੁਣ ਘਰ ਢਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੀਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ- ਤੇ ‘ਪਿੱਛੇ’ ਮੁੜਨ ਦਾ ਚੇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। – ਅਵਤਾਰ..

Teachers lack confidence in teaching about Islam

Many teachers, including RE specialists, lack confidence when it comes to teaching about Islam, research by the National Association of Teachers of Religious Education (NATRE) has revealed. To help address the issue and improve the understanding and representation of Islam and Muslims, RE Today has created a new cross-phase teaching resource: Picturing Islam, Picturing Muslims. According to an online poll conducted in May 2020, 25 percent of primary and secondary teachers said they were ‘not very confident’, ‘not confident at all, or ‘not sure’ when asked about their views on teaching about Islam. The poll echoes a 2018 survey of primary teachers, which found that only 52 percent felt confident teaching about Islam, compared with 95 percent who were assured about teaching Christianity. The studies also reflect a lack of understanding about Islam in wider society. A report by Ipsos Mori in 2018 reported that 57 percent of the British public did not feel that they had much knowledge or understanding of Islam, and that misconceptions are often widespread. At its conference last year, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers raised concerns about parents withdrawing their children from lessons on Islam. RE Today’s new teaching resource ‘Picturing Islam, Picturing Muslims’ features 24 picture cards and 72 learning activities and lesson ideas, connecting central Muslim concepts and ways of living. Created by RE subject experts, it explores both British and global Islam, and includes well-known Muslims who are in the public eye, such as footballer Mo Salah; Mayor of London, Sadiq Kahn; and chef author and TV presenter, Nadiya Hussain MBE...
