Harsh Vardhan to meet Maha, Gujarat CMs on corona situation

New Delhi, (Samajweekly) Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday held a meeting with the officials of the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra through video conferencing to take stock of the situation of COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking to the representatives, the minister said that the situation in the states was a matter of concern as at least 36 districts were affected by the COVID-19 disease. “Maharashtra and Gujarat are states in the country which is a matter of worry for us also as 34 out of 36 districts are affected from coronavirus. There are at least 14,541 cases and 583 deaths that have been reported from here,” said the Minister. “I will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers also to discuss further course of action to control spread of the virus in the state,” said the Minister. He also said that the situation in Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur and Solapur was more worrying and fortunately Gadchiroli and Wardha have remained unaffected. “We have to move towards the direction of making all the districts as green zones where no case would be reported in 21 days. This will be possible for us through proactive approach and strong will power,” the Minister told the representatives. The meeting was also attended by the MoS Health, Ashwani Kumar Choubey. According to the Health Ministry data, Maharashtra and Gujarat are the worst hit states in the country with a total 15,525 and 6,245 cases respectively...

मेरा घर… जहाँ दरवाजे बंद है, बाहर की हवा अंदर नही आती, अंदर की हवा बाहर नाही जाती। मेरा घर.. जहाँ बात नही होती, बस होता है… चिखना-चिल्लना, गाली-गेलोच और मार-पीट! मेरा घर… जहाँ बताये हुये आदेशों पर चालना पडता है, हुक्म को मानना पडता है! मेरा घर … जहाँ एक ही की आवाज होती है, और दुसरें के तो सांसो की आहटें! मेरा घर …. वैसे तो देखने मैं हर चीज अपनी जागह पर है, पर … वहा के लोग घर मे रहना पसंद ही नाही करते! मेरा घर.. वहा मेरी सांसे रुक जाती है, दिल की धडकन तेज हो जाती है, मन भारी होने लागता है। वह कहता है … “निकल यहाँ से … कहीं और चाली जा ! … नही तो यहाँ साँसे फुल जायेगी!” सोचती हुँ… चली ही जाऊँ घर छोड़कर! वैसे तो कहने को मेरा वहां कुछ भी नही है… … सिवाय जमाणे के रिवाज के! -हेमांगी..

A woman belonging to a migrant labourers’ group of UP returning from Mumbai delivered a healthy baby in a truck near Biaora town in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The 30-year-old woman Kaushalya, wife Manoj Kumar, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar in Basti district went into labour after the truck left Indore. The driver took the group to the civil hospital with the new mother and her baby in the truck and admitted her. The woman has been referred to Rajgarh for examination after the delivery, a health department source said. The woman has been tested for coronavirus. The workers were returning in a truck from Mumbai on Agra-Bombay Road to Basti district in UP. Another case of a woman delivering a child in the labour special train near Satna has also come to light on Friday. She is also from Uttar Pradesh. Rekha, a resident of Vikrampur, Ghazipur, was travelling in a labourers’ special train from Aurangabad with husband Brajesh Jaiswal. After the train left Maihar, she went into labour and gave birth to the baby near Uchhara. Other women in the helped her in the delivery...
